Three bodies recovered after fishing boats sink in Quang Tri storm

Authorities in Quang Tri Province have recovered three bodies after two anchored fishing boats broke loose and sank during Typhoon Bualoi, with six crew members still missing.

Border guards confirmed on September 30 that one more body was found in the afternoon, following the discovery of two others earlier that morning. The victims were recovered near the Gianh river estuary.

Search teams are deploying boats, drones and night-vision equipment to scour coastal waters from the Gianh to Nhat Le estuaries.

One of the vessels is found capsized and washed ashore in Bac Trach Commune.

The boats lost their anchors late on September 28 while sheltering at Bac Gianh Fishing Port as storm Bualoi swept ashore. Thirteen crew members were on board; four swam to safety while nine were missing when the vessels capsized and washed ashore in Bac Trach Commune.
