At 11.20 am on October 19, the Tay Ninh Border Guard Command, in coordination with the provincial police and concerned agencies, took over 14 men and one woman from nine provinces and cities at the Xa Mat International Border Gate.
The handover was made through the Trapeang Phlong International Border Police Station in Tboung Khmum Province, Cambodia.

Authorities said one person was deported from Siem Reap for illegal residence. In contrast, 14 others confessed to working in online casinos after being recruited via social media, mostly in romance scams, fake stock trading and gambling schemes in Osamach, Mondulkiri and Pailin.
Nine had left Vietnam legally through border gates or airports, while six crossed illegally through border areas. None had prior criminal records. Four were fined for improper border crossing, one was exempted due to the expiry of the penalty period, and one minor received a warning.
Three Vinh Long residents appeared to be victims of human trafficking. They said a local recruiter took them through the Moc Bai Border Gate to a casino in Svay Rieng, where they were later sold to another site in Osamach, Oddar Meanchey.
Families of the victims have filed reports with the police, and the case is now under investigation by the Vinh Long Police Department.
