Minister of MoLISA, Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, made the statement at a recent National Assembly meeting on the issue.

The decision follows the results of an inspection over wounded war veterans nationwide that last from 2008 to 2013.

They have also retrieved over VND75.5 billion (USD3.57 million) worth of subsidies from 3,378 people from this group over the past five years.

Further investigation will be conducted on over 1,762 people who would face criminal penalties for their wrongdoings.

The minister of MoLISA, Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, said the ministry would continue to tighten control over the implementation of policies and subsidies for those who made great contributions to national liberty and would apply strict penalties for any violations.
