State-owned cars flout airport traffic regulations

Blue-coloured licence plates are used by government officials and cars with red plates are owned by the military.

In order to manage traffic, Tan Son Nhat Airport only allows each car to stop for three minutes to pick up passengers. However, blue and red number-plated cars are causing traffic problems as they wait. The drivers also ignore warnings from the airport's staff and even traffic police and often abuse their status by waiting at drop-off or collection points for up to half an hour.

Employees from Tan Son Nhat Airport are demanding that the police deal with this abuse of privilege.
