Southern region forecasted to face widespread unseasonal rains

Vietnam's southern region has been forecasted to struggle with widespread unseasonal rain spells this month.

According to the Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Centre, the rainy season in southern localities officially ended in the first half of November. However, they would see some unseasonal rain fronts this month.

A rainy spell will occur in many southern localities on December 2-7, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 33 degrees Celsius. Some areas will witness high rainfall.

The total rainfall in the first week of December would be 40-80mm, compared to 30-70mm in the same period of many previous years.

People have been warned of the risk of flooding, strong winds, lightning, and gusts during rains.

High tides in HCM City early this month have been predicted to cause flooding for low areas.
