Police in Khanh Hoa Province discovered two stores that kept a large number of sea turtle shells, which they used to make handicrafts.

Police in Khanh Hoa Province discovered two stores that kept a large number of sea turtle shells, which they used to make handicrafts.

Police seized more than 1,000 specimens at the two stores in Nha Trang on November 19. This species of sea turtle is rare and under protection. The confiscated turtles weighed a total 1,359. They were handed over to Institute of Oceanography.

The police said this is the biggest-ever turtle trading ring in Vietnam. The success came after a long police investigation.
