Under instructions from Kien Giang Ports Authority, all ships and ferries on Phu Quoc, Rach Gia, Phu Quoc-Ha Tien, Rach Gia-Nam Du and the districts of Kien Hai District have halted operation to ensure passenger safety.

Shipping to the southern province of Kien Giang’s Phu Quoc Island has been suspended due to bad weather
On Monday, Kien Giang witnessed downpours and strong wind, causing rough seas. According to the Hydrometeorological Observatory - Southern Region, this weather would continue in waters off the south with warnings of whirlwinds.
After being informed of the suspension, ship and ferry operations have offered passengers refunds or allowed them to change their departures.
Tourist numbers have surged with many using ferry services. The suspension has left many people stranded on Phu Quoc Island.
Some travel firms said that they had provided meals for people stuck in Rach Gia City. They have also been taken to some tourist spots in the city.
Those stranded in Phu Quoc have also been provided accommodation.
