The bird is unable to fly due to damage to one wing and is being closely monitored and treated, with hopes it will recover and be released back into the wild.
The brown-headed eagle is listed as a critically endangered Group IB species, with illegal hunting, keeping or transport strictly banned and subject to severe penalties, including criminal prosecution.
According to local police, they have stepped up awareness campaigns urging residents to avoid hunting or trading wildlife, surrender hunting tools and report violations.
