The tortoise had previously been found by a local resident, who voluntarily handed it over to the authorities. The action demonstrated a commitment to protecting nature and helped raise public awareness of wildlife conservation.
Cong Hai Commune police praised the resident’s responsible conduct and urged the public to comply with wildlife protection laws, including bans on the illegal hunting, trading, transport, possession and keeping of wild animals.
Police also encouraged residents to report sightings of endangered, rare and precious wildlife to the authorities and voluntarily surrender such animals in accordance with the law.
The release is part of broader efforts to promote wildlife protection, conserve biodiversity and preserve natural habitats.
