According to the Dong Nai Hydro-Meteorological Station, water levels at Bien Hoa monitoring station on the Dong Nai River reached 2.2 metres on Saturday afternoon, exceeding the previous record set in 2000 by about one centimetre.

The rising tide overflowed embankments along the Dong Nai River, inundating several roads, including a section of Nguyen Van Tri Street between Tan Lan Communal House and Bien Hoa Market in Tran Bien Ward.
Residents said flooding caused by high tides was rare in central Bien Hoa, which lies on relatively high ground.
High tides also flooded roads and residential areas along the Cai River, a branch of the Dong Nai River.
Water levels reached 20-50cm in parts of Thai Hoa neighbourhood in Long Hung Ward and Tan Mai neighbourhood in Tam Hiep Ward.
To reduce flooding risks downstream, the Tri An Hydropower Plant cut its spillway discharge from 879 to 732 cubic metres per second at 2 pm on October 10.
Including water released through its power-generating turbines, total downstream discharge ranged from 1,192 to 1,532 cubic metres per second, depending on operating conditions.
Forecasters warned that high tides would persist in the Bien Hoa area on October 11, posing further flooding risks to low-lying riverside communities.
