According to Vietnam Railways Corporation, tickets for all trains on the north-south route are discounted by 30% on February 9-28. Specifically, after being cut, a ticket from Hanoi to HCM City costs just VND880,000 (USD38.26). The price is VND644,000 from Danang City to HCM City and VND822,000 from Vinh City to HCM City.
Large numbers of train tickets were returned due to the new Covid-19 outbreak
Around half of passengers have cancelled their railway tickets booked for Tet due to fears over the spread of Covid-19.
Vietnam Railways Corporation has also intensified Covid-19 prevention measures to ensure safety such as sterilisation of trains and at stations and the distancing between passengers. Temperature checks have also been conducted.
Separate areas have been arranged on trains for quarantined people with Covid-19 symptoms in necessary cases.
