Quang Ninh has incurred losses of VND24.8 trillion (USD1.01 billion) due to the typhoon. Around one million people in the province have been affected by the typhoon.

Quang Ninh is hard hit by Typhoon Yagi
In the 2024-2025 school year, the province will spend VND167.5 billion to waive tuition fees for 244,000 preschool children and high schools.
Families whose homes were completely destroyed or swept away will receive VND 100 million for rebuilding, while those with homes partially damaged by the storm will be given VND50 million each for repairs.
Ships and vessels which sank because of the typhoon will be offered financial support for salvage costs, ranging from VND15-50 million, depending on their size.
Following Typhoon Yagi, the province has also decided to raise subsidies for poor households, near-poor households, children, the elderly people in difficult circumstances and the disabled to VND700,000 per month, 1.4 times higher than the national level.
Earlier, along with Haiphong City, Quang Ninh refused governmental financial support of VND100 billion and offered it to other localities also hit by Typhoon Yagi.
According to the two localities the typhoon severely affected the two areas, but many other localities were even more challenging. When assistance is required, the two localities will ask the government for consideration.
