The zone covers 415.15 square kilometres across Chu Ty Township and four communes in Duc Co District. It is expected to accommodate a population of 75,000 by 2045, including 41,000 urban residents.
Under the plan, Le Thanh Economic Zone will comprise two main areas. The first, Le Thanh Border Gate Urban Zone, will serve as a hub for integrated economic activity, trade, and cross-border services. The second, centred around Chu Ty Township, will act as the administrative, political, economic, cultural, and commercial heart of Duc Co District.
Chu Ty will also function as a strategic gateway linking the economic zone with the East–West Economic Corridor, which connects Vietnam and Cambodia. It will provide essential logistics services, support border operations, and offer transit and accommodation facilities for international travellers.
The plan is expected to accelerate socio-economic development and reduce regional disparities along the western border of Gia Lai Province.
