Le Thi Nga, 49, from Tan Lam Hung Commune, Thach Ha District, said that her husband Tran Van Lieu, 52, has been struggling with kidney failure since 2006.

In 2020, her son Tran Van Dung, 12, was also diagnosed with the same disease.
Lieu and Dung visit hospital for hemodialysis three times a week. Treatment for the two is around VND10 million per month.
In addition, Lieu’s two sisters, who are facing mental problems have added to Nga’s burdens.

Nga has done all kinds of jobs to support the family with four ailing people.
Tran Van Cuong, vice chairman of Tan Lam Huong Commune, said that Nga is her family’s breadwinner. Local authorities have recently called for donations to help the family and he hoped that they would receive support from the public.
