
Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung gives gifts to families of fallen and wounded soldiers, and low-income families in Thanh Hoa on November 22.
A total of 100 gifts worth VND 275 million were given to the families in the districts of Yen Dinh and Vinh Loc.
The minister also gave money worth VND 100 million taken from the National Fund For Vietnamese Children to disadvantaged children in the two districts.Speaking at the meeting, minister Dung said that the government would always pay attention to improving the policies for families of fallen and wounded soldiers.
A local man Tran Van Nguong, 70, in Yen Dinh District said that he was very happy to receive the gift from the minister.
"I was seriously wounded in the American War," Nguong said. "I've lost 70 percent of my health. But I'm still lucky as many of my comrades died in the war. The state and government have taken care of us very well."
