The suspects are one couple, Ly Thi Ha, 30, and Doi Sy Truong, 32, along with Truong’s sister Doi Thi Dung, 36. They are all from Hau Loc District, Thanh Hoa Province.

The elderly beggars said that they would earn from VND100,000 to VND400,000 (USD4.85-USD19.4) per day, all of which they handed over to the ring leaders.
Before the arrest, Dung hired a room in Binh Chuan Ward in Thuan An for two elderly people The room was usually unoccupied, with the residents leaving home at 6am and returning at 10pm, which surprised neighbours.
Dung would take all her \'employees\' to markets in Thuan Giao residential area in the morning and return home to wait for their earnings.
The Thuan An Bureau of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs took five elderly people in the ring to the provincial social sponsor centre for care. Local police are still investigating the case.
