However, he pointed out that some units and agencies fail to pay due attention to preventing and combating corruption, the amendment and supplement of laws on anti-corruption remain slow, and some corruption cases are delayed, causing public concern.
Dung also asked relevant agencies to improve investigation, inspection, audit, prosecution and trial, as well as speed up the settlement of corruption cases, especially serious and complex ones.
In the first six months of this year, the inspection sector conducted 6,056 administrative inspections, required to collect 6.482 trillion VND for the State budget, 1,291 hectares of land and posed 258 billion VND in fines for administrative violations.
Particularly, the case of Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, who took advantage of his position and power while carrying out duty in land use and management in Vinh Yen city, Vinh Phuc province, and the case of “deliberately violating the State regulations on economic management that cause severe consequences” at the Vietnam National Shipping Lines were brought to trial.
