Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a wholly Japanese-invested USD20 million medical university project.
The Tokyo-Vietnam Medical University, which will be invested by Japan’s leading Waseda Health Sciences Education Corporation, will be located in the northern province of Hung Yen.

The 30-hectare campus will be built over two years. Four years after it begins operation, the university is expected to have 80 local and foreign lecturers and enrol 1,200 students.
Tokyo Vietnam Medical University will focus on four-year undergraduate courses in nursing, functional rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and orthotics & prosthetics, as well as three-year college training of nursing and medical tests.
The university will also conduct scientific research based on medical technology application, and provide educational support services. It plans to start enrolling students from June 2016.
Vietnam and Japan have been also boosting the construction pace Vietnam-Japan University located at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park to the west of Hanoi. The USD330 million university is expected to become operational in September 2016.
