As Germany is facing rapid population aging, its government set the target of training and recruiting 8,000 – 13,000 nurses between now and 2021 at home or those from abroad, including Vietnam.
The new Immigration Law which will officially be put into effect from March 1, 2020, will allow German businesses to accept workers from countries outside the European Union (EU) in afew particular fields including: construction, electricity, mechanics, agriculture, medical and nursing staff.
It is expected that in 2020, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will reach an agreement with the Federal Employment Agency of Germany on sending skilled workers from Vietnam to work in 12-13 sectors in Germany.
2019 was the fourth year Vietnam had more than 120,000 workers applying theirtrades overseas. Currently, there are 650,000 Vietnamese workers in more than 40 countries and territories in 30 different areas.
