Online exchange a huge hit

The online exchange on March 25 with representatives for 20 of the top universities in the UK was a huge success.

The online exchange on March 25 with representatives for 20 of the top universities in the UK, including St. Andrew\'s, was a huge success.

Potential students, parents and the curious flooded the DTiNews website with questions. Questions were focused on requirements such as IELTS scores (usually 6.0 or higher), cost of living, accommodation, suggestions for schools and more.

Hundreds of questions were submitted and answered live by a panel that included representatives and a former student who studied in the UK.

Responses were right at the end of participants fingertips and the interaction was the first of its kind in Vietnam, providing both Vietnamese and English answers to questions submitted live via www.dantri.com.vn and www.dtinews.com.

It appears that the time has never been better, nor the opportunity greater to study overseas in places such as the UK.

Many were seeking answers to what it takes to study in the UK.

While the requirements vary greatly from school to school and programme to programme, more can be found at the UK Education Exhibition in Hanoi on Saturday or Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.

Another often asked question was that of scholarships. Many student\'s were inquiring about scholarship opportunities which are scarce and rarely provided by universities in the UK. Usually, a private source is necessary and it\'s up to student\'s to find that source themselves.

Readers can access all the questions and answers, plus photos and video clips from the online exchange here:
