Northern region to turn cold on December 15

A cold front is moving toward Vietnam from China and is forecast to affect northern and north-central provinces on December 15.

A cold front is moving toward Vietnam from China and is forecast to affect northern and north-central provinces on December 15, according to the Central Hydro-meteorological Forecasting Centre.

People in the mountain areas will feel the chill as the front hits border provinces in the afternoon and will spread quickly across the northern region. The temperature in some places could drop to below 5oC.

It will also cause strong winds in the Bac Bo (Tonkin) Gulf and rain in northern provinces.

The cold spell is expected to last for 10 days, says the centre.
