Nigerian men arrested for transporting 15 kg of drugs into Vietnam

The border guards in Quang Tri Province announced on September 23 that they have arrested two Nigerian men who were trying to transport 15 kg of drugs into Vietnam.

The border guards and customs officers in Quang Tri noticed a suspicious truck on September 20 and discovered a brown suitcase. There were four bags containing white substances inside. Each bag weighed 3.2 kg and it was suspected that they are methamphetamine. No one in the truck admitted to owning the drug.

Ekene Etemba

They had co-operated with the police in Quang Tri and arrested a Nigerian man named Ekene Etemba with 4 kg of methamphetamine in Tan Long Commune on the same day.

After expanding the investigation, they found a handbag containing 7.5 kg methamphetamine at a restaurant in Lao Bao Town. The border guards in Lao Bao Town later arrested Omeje Jonson Chibu for illegal entry. He also admitted being the owner of the bag.

The investigation has been expanded.
