Moc Bai International Border Gate Border Guard Station said officers intercepted the men at about 5.30 am on May 6 near the border in Ben Cau Commune.
Authorities identified them as Nguyen Van Tien, 24, from Vinh Long; Nguyen Huy Hoang, 36, from Quang Ninh; and Nguyen Van Ngoc, 30, from Bac Ninh.

According to investigators, the three had searched for jobs through social media before illegally crossing into Cambodia on May 5. Less than 24 hours later, they attempted to return to Vietnam by land and were detected by border patrols.
The men told authorities they had previously worked at compounds associated with gambling and online fraud operations in Cambodia.
Tien said he worked in the King Crown area in Bavet between 2020 and 2023, while Hoang said he had worked in the Bavet night market area in 2021.
Ngoc said he worked in Kampot in 2025 and had previously been rescued by Vietnamese authorities in Cambodia before being repatriated through Hoa Lu International Border Gate in October 2025.
Border guards are coordinating with local police to investigate the case and complete legal procedures in line with regulations.
