The board said large waves and powerful currents have battered local beaches in recent days, posing serious risks to swimmers and those taking part in water activities. Rescue teams have imposed a swimming ban along the Tran Phu-Pham Van Dong coastal park, where conditions remain severe.
Between October 18 and 22, two incidents occurred on Tran Phu Beach. A Hanoi tourist was swept out to sea but rescued safely, while a Russian visitor was pulled unconscious from the water near the Maple Hotel and revived before being taken to hospital.
Authorities have urged locals, visitors, and coastal businesses to observe safety warnings, avoid swimming during dangerous weather, and help disseminate updates via loudspeakers and social media.
Hotels and resorts have also been told to warn guests and cooperate with rescue teams to ensure compliance with beach safety rules.
