Nearly 8,500 new Covid-19 infection cases confirmed on Saturday

According to the ministry's report, 8,481 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 57 out of 63 localities in the country including HCM City (1,240), Dong Nai (743), Binh Duong (631), Tay Ninh (593), An Giang (547), Dong Thap (459), Tien Giang (356), Soc Trang (296), Vinh Long (292), Ca Mau (271), Binh Thuan (265), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (224), Khanh Hoa (209), Binh Phuoc (198), Bac Lieu (188), Kien Giang (181), Hanoi (152), Binh Dinh (126), Dak Lak (126), Tra Vinh (120), Nghe An (100). There were 16 imported patients confirmed today.

The new infections showed a decrease of 495 cases compared to yesterday's figure. There were 3,940 infections found in the community.

As of Saturday evening, 1,013,360 infections had been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include HCM City (446,443), Binh Duong (242,874), Dong Nai (77,399), Long An (36,441), and Tien Giang (20,506).

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 1,018,376. The country now stands 37th among 223 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.

On November 13, an additional 1,843 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 858,054.

On Saturday evening, a further 88 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 23,018. The deaths were reported in some localities including HCM City (38), Binh Duong (8 ), Tay Ninh (8 ), An Giang (6), Tien Giang (5), Binh Thuan (5), Can Tho (4), Bac Lieu (4), Dong Nai (3), Long An (2), Dong Thap (2), Soc Trang (2), Vinh Long (1).

Vietnam on November 12 administered more than 1.46 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines. The country has so far conducted over 97.83 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with over 33.75 million people having received two doses.
