According to the Department of Dyke Management and Flood, Storm Control under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the country faced a tropical depression, 16 heavy rainstorms causing floods, flash floods, and landslides, 120 whirlwinds and hailstorms and two severe cold spells between January and June 19.

Natural disasters claimed 33 lives and damaged 7,600 houses and 700 hectares of crops. This has resulted in losses of VND210 billion (USD8.93 million).

Torrential rain between June 17-19 killed one person and left another missing in the northern mountainous province of Son La.

The Vietnam Disaster Management Authority reported that a total of 1,057 natural disasters hit Vietnam in 2022, leaving 175 dead and missing.
