Rescue teams discovered the victim at Hon Chong beach in northern Nha Trang, according to the Nha Trang Beach Rescue Unit under the Nha Trang Bay Management Board.

The student from Dien Dien Commune, Khanh Hoa, had gone swimming with four friends at Hon Chong Beach. The group returned to shore later in the evening but realised him was missing and alerted rescue workers.
Authorities then launched a search along the coastline, deploying personnel and equipment. The body was found at around 8 am on March 10.
The incident follows another drowning on March 7, when a nine-year-old boy was swept away by strong waves at a beach in Dong Hai Ward in Khanh Hoa Province.
Local authorities have installed warning signs along Nha Trang’s beaches and urged residents and visitors to avoid swimming in dangerous areas, especially at night or during strong waves, and to alert lifeguards immediately in emergencies.
