Roads to villages of Thuong Hoa, Dan Hoa and Trong Hoa communes have been deeply put under water.

Dinh Tuan Anh, head of Minh Hoa District’s Department of Education and Training, said that all local students had not gone to school since this morning, September 10. Day-boarders of some schools have been asked to stay at home to ensure safety.

Minh Hoa District’s authorities have prepared measures for responding to the situation.

Pham Van Quang, chairman of Truong Xuan Commune People’s Committee, said that nearly 1,000 local people in 270 households have been isolated.

Nguyen Ngoc Giau, deputy director of Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Site Centre, said that the centre has suspended the welcome of tourists since today, October 7, to ensure safety.
