Downpours on September 22 caused the Buong River’s water level to rise, inundating dozens of houses and cutting off many roads in Phuc Tan Ward.
To ensure public safety, local authorities set up ropes and warning signs to prevent people from crossing flooded areas, while children had to be escorted by their parents to school.

Nguyen Hieu from the Mieu area in Phuoc Tan Ward said the water began rising early in the morning. It was the sixth flood this year; although less severe than on September 13, it still blocked many roads.
“In the past, floods rose but receded quickly. This year, construction of the expressway has slowed drainage. Today, September 23, there was no rain, yet the water level continued to rise. I hope the authorities will soon find a solution to ease flooding in the neighbourhood and make travel easier for residents,” Hieu said.
Along the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway Project, in the Mieu area, rising water flooded homes by 0.3 to 0.5 metres.

Earlier, the Dong Nai Hydro-Meteorological Station issued a warning of torrential rain across the province, with risks of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and ground subsidence in some areas due to the impact of Typhoon Rasaga.
