The Ha Tinh Forest Protection Department said on May 11 that officials had coordinated with local police to inspect the home of a 32-year-old resident.

During the inspection, authorities found 46 wild birds of natural origin being kept on the property, including 34 spotted doves, one songbird, three oriental magpie robins, five white breasted waterhens and three wild ducks.
Officials said all of the animals were classified as common forest wildlife, but the owner could not provide documents proving their lawful origin. Authorities also seized a device used for trapping birds.

According to investigators, the man had previously used several Facebook, TikTok and YouTube accounts to post videos and images related to hunting and trapping wild birds.
Authorities drew up a report, confiscated the evidence and ordered the man to remove all social media content linked to bird hunting and trapping activities.
The birds were later transferred to Vu Quang National Park for care and safekeeping.
The case remains under investigation.
