Police in Bac Giang Province have decided to bring Than Van Su, 39, to trial for the attempted murder of a traffic officer.
Colonel Nguyen Van Chuc, head of Bac Giang City’s police told DTiNews that Su would be in custody for at least four months while under investigation for running over a traffic officer.
According to Chuc, Su was driving recklessly and could not present a driver\'s license. Based on his conduct, he could be charged with attempted murder.
On August 5, 2011, a group of traffic police in Bac Giang City recorded a car registered under the Su’s name violating traffic rules. However, when the police ordered him to stop, he reportedly sped up, driving his car towards the officers. Even though one of the police men was clinging to the bonnet of the car, Su continued to drive for more than a kilometre, according to local residents.
Su ended up being apprehended in Ngo Quyen Ward.
