Truong Duc Hon, 27, was detained on Tuesday for illegally transporting nearly 1 kilo of methamphetamine.
According to a report from Phu Yen Police, Hon was caught red handed on November 6 while carrying a black bag which contained 17 packages of methamphetamine weighing nearly 1 kilo in Dong Hoa Town.
The methamphetamine seized.
The man said that he was hired by a man in Binh Thuan Province to transport the drug from Binh Thuan to Phu Yen to sell.
"This is the largest amount of drugs seized in the province so far," the Phu Yen police said.
Police are further investigating the case.
