| A number of young women have been opting to stage wedding photographs as a way to ease their loneliness. |
Nguyen Thi T.A, a 25-year old woman from HCM City, decided to take wedding photos on her own after her boyfriend broke up with her. She provided some photographs of her ex-boyfriend so they could be added in and came up with the fantasy that he had passed away. She then posted them on the internet.
However, after some friends of his recognised the ruse, they criticised her online and refused to speak to her. Many of the ex-boyfriend's relatives were also extremely unhappy, and forced her to remove the pictures and apologise.
Huynh Thi Kim Thi, 26, works at a fashion company in HCM City. Beautiful, but still single, Thi decided to take solo wedding photos while she was still young. She posted these with the announcement that she would get married in one month. Friends began to call to congratulate her, and in a couple weeks started receiving wedding gifts. She ended up having to explain via Facebook that it was just "for fun". Still, many of her friends thought they had been cheated.
Her parents were not happy either, saying that such a stunt could affect her chances of finding a real future husband.
