Lane restrictions in Hanoi to ease traffic

Five busy streets in Hanoi will be divided into several lanes starting on September 20, in order to ease traffic.

Drivers of motorbikes or cars could be fined as much as VND100,000 (USD4.8)

Five busy streets in Hanoi will be divided into several lanes starting on September 20, in order to ease traffic.

Kim Ma, Tran Khat Chan- Dai Co Viet, Giai Phong, Ba Trieu and Pho Hue-Hang Bai will have separate lanes for automobiles and two-wheeled vehicles.

Government decree No. 34/2010/NĐ-CP levies fines for those who do not obey traffic rules.

Drivers of \'simple vehicles\', including bicycles and or cyclos, who are driving in the wrong lane, would be fined up to VND60,000 (USD2.88).

Drivers of motorbikes or cars could be fined as much as VND100,000 (USD4.8)
