The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) revealed that, in 2010, Vietnamese laborers will be mainly dispatched to traditional destinations like the Middle East, Taiwan and Malaysia.
According to Director of the MOLISA Department of Overseas Labor Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, the Middle East and Taiwan continue to be major receivers of Vietnamese guest workers.
The MOLISA plans to send 4,000 security workers to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Meanwhile, Taiwan wants to receive a large number of workers who will work in processing industries and old folks’ home.
Such promising markets like Malaysia and Libya have high demands for guest workers in 2010. Libya is planning its post-embargo reconstruction and can receive 30,000–40,000 foreign laborers per year.
Qualification management tightened
MOLISA Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hoa said that, in 2010, the Ministry will tighten supervision and inspection over labor export, especially strictly managing the selection of laborers.
Due priority will be given to bettering qualification of labor in order to raise the percentage of trained guest workers. MOLISA pledges to speed up vocational training programs for guest workers. The Ministry is now building a vocational training school to train laborers for the Middle East market.
