Illegal stalls dismantled on Thanh Hoa beach

Residents have dismantled dozens of illegal beach huts and stalls on a beach in the northern central city of Thanh Hoa's Hoang Hoa District.

Le Thanh Canh, Chairman of Hoang Truong Commune, said, "We plan to launch a clean-up operation on May 22 to remove the remaining illegal stalls. If households fail to comply, we'll continue to persuade, encourage, and take appropriate measures."

The stalls are placed along nearly one kilometre of coastline in front of the Flamingo Linh Truong eco-tourism and resort area.

In addition to setting up tables and chairs to sell beverages, many households ran electrical wires, hung light bulbs, and built corrugated iron shower rooms, making the area look messy and unsightly. They also installed freshwater shower facilities.

The unlicensed drink stalls have drawn complaints from many tourists, who found them intrusive and frustrating.
