The shipment owner was identified as a woman residing in Yen My Commune, Hung Yen Province.

At the time of inspection, the woman failed to provide invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the goods.

Authorities later searched her business premises in Yen My Commune and discovered a facility actively producing and packaging sanitary pads on site.

Inspectors seized 37,180 finished sanitary pad packages bearing multiple brand names, including Kotex, Lisa, Diana, Anh Duong, Viet Thai and Thach Thao.

Officials also confiscated more than 525,000 unpackaged sanitary pads, nearly two tonnes of packaging materials and labels, along with machinery used in the manufacturing process.

According to initial statements, the woman allegedly purchased raw materials and packaging independently before using heat-sealing machines to package the products for sale on the market.

Investigators said all finished products showed signs of being counterfeit goods.

Authorities ordered the facility to suspend operations, sealed the machinery and seized all evidence for further investigation.

Based on the market value of genuine products, officials estimated the total value of the suspected counterfeit goods at nearly VND 1 billion (approximately USD 38,500).

The Hung Yen Provincial Police Investigation Agency has launched criminal proceedings and detained the suspect pending further investigation.
