Hue braces for more torrential rain

Hue City is forecast to see widespread heavy rainfall exceeding 1,000 millimetres in some areas, raising the risk of severe flooding.

According to the Hue Meteorological and Hydrological Station, rainfall from November 11 to 20 is projected at 500 to 600 millimetres across the city and 700 to 900 millimetres in mountainous areas.

From November 15 to 20, and again later in the month, a reinforced cold front combined with strong easterly winds aloft is expected to bring persistent downpours.

Authorities warn of flash floods and landslides in hilly and riverside areas, along with extensive urban flooding, particularly in low-lying and central districts.

The intensified cold air is also expected to bring strong winds and high waves offshore, threatening vessels and coastal operations.
