According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the record-high tides would happen today and tomorrow (September 30 and October 1). The tides at Phu An and Nha Be would climb to 1.68-1.7 metres and last for 5-7 hours.

Flooding in Can Tho on Sunday
The highest water level at the lower basin area of Sai Gon and Dong Nai rivers has been sharply increasing and this would last by the end of October 3. The same problem has also occurred in Cuu Long River.
This would be the record high tides so far this year, the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said, warning measures to respond to the flooding in riverside areas and erosion in provinces such as An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Can Tho.
HCM City, which often faces the flooding due to tides, has been also predicted to be severely inundated today and tomorrow.
Flood tides usually take place from late September to early next year.
The central region would see high flood tides on October 11-14, November 9-13, December 13-and January 10-13, next year
