
The centre said that rains will start on June 21 and spread through the two regions, with an average rainfall of 20-50mm. Some areas will see heavier rains at night, with rainfall amounting to 100mm. Whirlwinds, lightning, and strong winds may occur during the rain, and flash floods may happen in mountainous areas.
The rainy weather will last until June 23.
Meanwhile, the scorching hot weather will still cover the northern and central regions with average temperatures of between 36-39 degrees Celsius and low humidity of 40-45 percent.
The heatwave is forecasted to lessen from June 23, when the northern region will enjoy a temporary break next week.
Starting next week, spells of rainfall will come, and the heat wave will likely decrease gradually.
