Hoc Mon Bus Terminal spans a total area of 10,340 square metres, ranking as the second-largest in HCM City and the largest in the suburban area.
According to Deputy Director of the HCM City Department of Construction, Bui Hoa An, the project plays a crucial role in completing the city’s public transportation planning. The planned extension of the Ben Thanh-Tham Luong metro line to Cu Chi is also expected to pass through this bus terminal.
In the initial phase, the terminal will serve Bus Route 24 with 27 vehicles, operating 276 trips per day at intervals of 5 to 12 minutes.

In the next phase, the centre will relocate interprovincial bus routes to Hoc Mon Bus Terminal, including Route 70-1 (Cu Chi Bus Station-Tay Ninh Bus Station) and Route 70-2 (Cu Chi Bus Station-An Nhon Tay). A new route will also be added to connect Hoc Mon Market with Tan Son Nhat Airport.
Hoc Mon Bus Terminal cost VND 133 billion. It can accommodate more than 60 buses.
HCM City’s bus terminal infrastructure currently meets only about 65 per cent of parking demand, falling short of the requirements for developing its public transport network.
