HCM City authorities want to increase the number of firework display locations for the coming Tet Lunar New Year’s Eve to eight.
The municipal Department of Culture, and Sports has been tasked to co-operate with concerned agencies to consider the budget for more sites for Tet firework shows with the proposal to be concluded by January 8.
According to the city people’s committee, besides one high-altitude fireworks show at Saigon River Tunnel in District 2 as usual, one more site in Cu Chi District should be considered.
Low altitude firework shows in HCM City were held in the Ben Ngoc Area in Thu Duc City, Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11, Ben Duoc Memorial Temple in Cu Chi District, Can Thanh Commune in Can Gio District and Monument Temple for Martyrs of Mau Than 1968 in Binh Chanh District.
The city will organise a high-altitude fireworks show at Saigon River Tunnel in District 2, while a low-range fireworks show is slated to take place at Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11. Each firework display will last for 15 minutes on New Year’s Eve.
