The largest project of all is a four-kilometre road linking Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa streets. Work on the VND4.8-trillion road was started in December and is scheduled to be finished by the end of this year. Once put into use, it will directly link to Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s Terminal 3, helping to mitigate traffic congestion on Truong Son Road.

Another project is the VND2.3-trillion expanded Duong Quang Ham Road in Go Vap District. The road will be widened to 32 metres with six lanes. Once put into operation, the project will help link to roads such as Phan Van Tri, Nguyen Thai Son and Le Duc Tho.

The city is also speeding up a project to expand Tan Ky Tan Quy Road in HCM City’s northwestern area, connecting the districts of Hoc Mon, Binh Tan, Tan Phu and Tan Binh and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The road will be expanded to 30 metres wide from the current 10 metres. It will cost VND1.23 trillion, including VND995 billion for site clearance.

Work on the two tunnels at a roundabout at Nguyen Van Linh-Nguyen Huu Tho Intersection in District 7 is slated to be finished by this year. To date, 40 percent of the VND830-billion project has been completed.
