This followed the proposal by the Ministry of Defense to deal with obstacles which slowed down the handover of the military land for the Terminal T3 project.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport
The land belongs to the Vietnam People's Air Force.
The VND11 trillion (USD 443.54 million) Terminal 3 project was approved by the government in May 2020 with Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) as the investor.
The project has a designed capacity of 20 million passengers per year. Along with the two current terminals, the airport’s total capacity is expected to be raised to 50 million passengers by 2050.
The project was initially scheduled to kick off in late 2021, but it has been delayed due to issues related to the handover of the military land.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the Ministry of Transport to speed up the completion of investment procedures in order to start work on the project.
Under the government leader’s instruction, ACV has to put the project into service in 2024.
The ACV said that work on the project will start around one week after receiving possession of the land.
