HCM City set for holiday fireworks displays

HCM City’s authorities have announced firework displays will be held at two locations on the 43rd Reunification Day, today, April 30.

HCM City’s authorities have announced firework displays will be held at two locations on the 43rd Reunification Day, today, April 30.

The 15-minute firework displays will be held near Saigon River Tunnel and Dam Sen Park from 9 pm to 9.15pm. The fireworks are funded by the private sector and will be broadcasted live on the HTV Channel.

The HCM City People's Committee, People's Council and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organised a meeting and parade in the morning. A music show at Dam Sen Park was also held.

Museums such as War Remnants Museum and Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts have organised meetings with the veterans and open new exhibitions to help people understand more about the event. Many other activities have been held including a trans-Vietnam cycle race. HCM City's streets will be decorated with lights from April 23 to June 17.

Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street will also hold a music show, tonight, April 30.

About 1,500 people participated in the marathon held by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Truong Sa and Hoang Sa streets on April 29.
