HCM City prepares to receive workers from other provinces

Factories and cooperatives must have a detailed plan and get approval. The workers must have at least one vaccine shot, tested negative for Covid-19 and have a travel permit from their home provincial authorities.

People who travel by air or train must follow the plans and guidance of the Ministry of Transport. Firms that arrange shuttle buses or taxis for workers must submit the plan and register the vehicles with the Department of Transport.

The management boards of industrial parks and processing zones will gather opinions from firms to draft a suitable travel plan in co-operation with Phuong Trang Passenger Bus Company. The department will give a QR code to them and notify other provinces and cities.

In October, workers can travel by shuttle buses arranged by their firms or industrial park management boards. From November, the Department of Transport will also arrange a bus route connecting HCM City with other provinces. There will be four buses a day to serve workers and the prices will be publicly announced.

Upon buying bus tickets or getting on the bus, the workers must show all of the required papers including their firms' employee list.

From July, HCM City authorities have worked with 34 provinces and cities to bring 33,000 people working in HCM City back to their home provinces to avoid Covid-19.
