HCM City authorities have agreed to two more pedestrian and food streets in District 7 following the municipal Department of Industry and Trade’s proposal.
The move is aimed to help boost tourism and social activities in District 7.
One street will cover 9,000 square metres in Tan Thuan and Tan Phong wards. The street will be open from 6-12 pm, but cultural, sports and artistic activities will end before 10 pm. The concept will be piloted for around a year.
Another street will be situated in Tan Thuan Tay Ward’s Road 11N. It will be operated from 6-10 pm from every Friday to Sunday and holidays and tested for a year and a half.
Meanwhile, the city will upgrade Sky Garden food and shopping street which is situated in the area of Nguyen Van Linh-Nguyen Van Nghi-Road 2 and Bui Bang Doan streets.
District 7 has been asked to ensure regulations related to food and fire safety as well as environmental hygiene on the streets. Local authorities need to strictly deal with illegal pavement encroachment.
