Passengers wait for a metro train on the Cat Linh-Ha Dong route.

At the Ring Road 3 station, the lift designated for people with disabilities, pregnant women, and the elderly has been temporarily suspended due to being under maintenance.

The protective canopy for the escalators at Ring Road 3 station also shows signs of long-term disrepair, which affects their operation, particularly during inclement weather.

On April 8, the priority lift at Lang station was also found to be non-functional. Escalators at the same station have also been suspended for maintenance, leaving passengers to use the stairs.

Nguyen Van Khanh, a 71-year-old passenger, noted that the lift for the elderly and disabled at Lang station has been out of service for an extended period.
"Due to my poor health, climbing dozens of steps is extremely challenging. I usually have to rest at least twice when walking up to the platform," Khanh said. "I hope the management unit will resolve the issue soon to make commuting easier, especially for older citizens."

Another passenger, Phan Thuy Mien, who commutes daily on the Cat Linh–Ha Dong Metro, reported that the lift at Ring Road 3 station has been out of order for over a month.

"When I asked about it, station staff said the lift had been reported to the company, and they were awaiting further instructions," she said.

According to a representative from the Hanoi Railway Company (Hanoi Metro), several lifts and escalators are currently undergoing repairs but face delays due to a parts shortage.

Hanoi Metro has instructed the contractor to complete the repair work by April 15, 2025. However, due to customs-related delays in imported spare parts, full repairs are expected to be completed within April.

Regarding the damaged canopy at Ring Road 3 station, the company representative said the issue was caused by the impact of Typhoon Yagi in September 2024.

Initial repair work has been completed, but comprehensive repairs require a separate project. The company has submitted a proposal to the Department of Construction to proceed with the restoration.
