The programme was started on October 8 and has attracted many visitors. According to the zoo, many visitors had expressed desired to get closer and to understand about the animals more.

The horses at the zoo are from various breeds. Visitors will know more about how to take care of the horse and learn horse riding. Children are taught how to ride a horse by the guides.

Ngo Le Thang, head of Hanoi Riding Club, said this was the first steps to introduce horse riding, horse breeds, and related sports to Vietnamese people. The club hopes to popularise and familiarise horse riding in the future.

Asides the horses, Thu Le Zoo also opens a peacock area for visitors.

Visitors could previously only watch the peacocks from afar, but now they can interact with the birds, take selfies and watch them at a closer distance. In near future, visitors may be able to interact with more birds in the Phasianidae family.

Nguyen Cong Nghiep, Deputy General Director of Hanoi Zoo Company, said, "Interacting with the animals is the common trend in the world but it's still new in Vietnam. Via the programme, we want to make visitors become more familiar with animals and to nature."

The zoo will expand the programme to other animals.
