A three-wheeled motorbike carrying a long bunch of metal bars collided with a public bus on Nguyen Trai Street on May 8.
In a document signed on May 9, the chairman asked the police and other agencies to tighten management on the operation of three-wheeled motorbikes and other homemade vehicles in the area.
"Strict fines should be given to any individuals or organisations using these vehicles to transport bulky objects that violate traffic regulations," the document said.
The move came following a traffic accident involving a three-wheeled motorbike on May 8. The vehicle was carrying a long bunch of metal bars on Nguyen Trai Street at 5.30am when it collided with a public bus.
The strong crash saw the metal bars penetrate the front glass of the bus, causing serious damage. Luckily no-one was injured.
